Hello! I have the PLG150-DX card in my MOTIF ES7. I created some performances with using the PLG tones. I need help inserting chorus and reverb effects only in PLG's voice! I've tried some options but couldn't! 🙁

Thanks for the question. You cannot do what you’ve stated... and at first it may seem like it’s semantics but it’s not. You cannot “Insert” the System Effects. Each Part of your Performance has a Send amount into the System Effects — that’s the proper term for the Reverb and Chorus processors.

When you create a Motif ES Plug-in Voice using the PLG150-DX, you do so in VOICE mode. Like any internal Motif ES Voice, the Plug-in Voice can have two Insertion Effects. These are the equivalent to the musicians own personal effects. If you are building a B3 sound you might “insert” the organ signal through an Overdrive and a Rotary Speaker. These effects are literally, inserted inline with the organ signal.
If you are building an electric guitar sound, you might insert a Distortion and a Wah-Wah... again these are the guitar player’s personal effects... they are literally inserted inline ... guitar —> Distortion —> Wah-Wah. No other instrument utilizes a Voice’s Dual Insertion Effects.

The System Effects are two processors: Reverb and Chorus (Time Delays), they are not apart of the musician’s personal gear... they recreate the room acoustics. Those things outside of the musicians direct control.

When these individual Voices join the band (that is, you place them in a Performance) they bring along their Insertion Effects, but each instrument plugs into the band’s mixer. It is that mixer that has two Auxiliary Sends. One feeds the reverberation chamber (Reverb), the other feeds time Delay Effects (Chorus). These are “shared” effects.

All the members of the band are in the same room and therefore, share the same System Effects. Each Part has a Send amount to the System Effects. You position the musicians by how much Reverb or Time Delay you use.

Technically speaking the Insert Effects are apart of the instrument... while the System Effects belong to the mixer that combines all the individual instruments. So whatever Reverb and whatever Chorus Type you set for your Performance will be available to all four Parts via the EFF SEND (Rev Send and Cho Send).
