I want to give the organ on the YC88 another chance, nonetheless it can have (at the same expression level) extreme volume differences of +-15db (note C4 vs note C6 on H4 for example). Sound guys kill me for that, but I still want to give it a try, so I will definitely need to use an expression pedal. And it's organ, so expression is a must-have.
On the YC88 I want to play its organ section via my Montage M7 which has a better keybed for glissando's. Setting the organ section to "ext only" is a breeze, so no problem there. keys A and B are set to off.
In order to use the expression pedal connected to the Montage, in zone settings I activate "Vol/Exp". On YC88 in menu "Controllers/Receive SW/Expression, I deactivated expression for Key A & B. Expression pedal now works for organ. However, here comes the problem.
On Montage I have to enter a value "midi volume" 0 to 127 for the zone, and then save it. But when I recall that performance, all parts on YC88 (Org, Key A & B) get that same volume, the value of midi volume. This I definitely don't want.
On midi monitor I see that montage is also sending out CC07 at selecting the performance.
My question, how do I set it up so an expression pedal connected to montage can also control expression on Organ part on YC without affecting the volume of Keys A & B when selecting that performance on montage? (Without bringing extra gear please)
Thanks!
(Note: wouldn't it be easier if Org, Key A & B could be set to their own midi channel? Just a thought)
