Was ist passiert mit Yamaha's YC ? Keine updates nichts neues?
🙁
I don't speak German but I get the message. I wonder if Yamaha will?
It's been a long wait since the V1.02 update.....
I know many folk (me included!)are hoping for an improved rotary sim ....
Maybe it's proving to be a really difficult challenge to get it 'right' - and that's the reason for the long delay?

What happened to Yamaha's YC? No updates nothing new?
Not yet - the update frequency roughly matches the CP's release cadence so far. 1Q2021 is when to start looking out for the newer version if the CP can be used as any guide. And there's no real reason to do so - other than saying if you're OK with what the CP has been doing - then wait until 3/2021 or so to start feeling the itch relative to what CP has been doing.
Yamaha has had lots of swings (translation: tries/opportunities) to get rotary simulation queued up for this product that could really use it. From other "recent" organ-focused products to synths and workstations that feature organs. It's not something Line 6 does very well, as I understand, so there's not a lot of cross-pollination opportunity from that vertical.
To me, the release schedule is matching what could be expected with or without rotary speaker having anything to do with it.

Jason...with all due respect...you've said this a few times in other threads as well. The CP 88 was announced at NAMM 2019. It had two major .x updates in its first year and two in the first nine months of this year...four in total The YC61 was introduced at NAMM 2020. It has had one very minor .0x update and the first year is almost over. It is far from on the same schedule. I guess that means we should expect four major updates between now and next September...I'll take the under.
There were plenty of great ideas put forth here and on IdeaScale to improve the YC aside from the rotary speaker...among them allowing fixed panning and/or the ability to allow only USB audio to go through the outputs...either one would allow relatively easy use of an outboard rotary sim until Yamaha can figure the rotary out. I think it's clear that many people that purchased this are unhappy with the status quo. Someone from Yamaha...please at least give us a status report...the stone cold silence is not at all customer-friendly!
Although we disagree on the general progress curve of the two instruments - we do agree that there are a number of improvements that could be made once (or "if" depending on your perspective) a firmware update clears.
