I’ve got a degree in Computer Science, and have been working with the Internet and the web, networks and the like for more decades than I care to admit.
I am completely stumped as to how to download a Live Set sound for my YC61 from Soundmondo, whether on the web or in the IOS app.
Please explain!
Dov
Connect your iOS device to your YC using the appropriate Lightning-to-USB-Camera-Adapter
Open the Soundmondo App
In the lower right corner of the app you’ll see a cable icon (I think it’s the letter ‘S’ in a cloud) to connect to Soundmondo
The icon of three people is “All Users” - if you tap that you can refine your search
To download an item you just tap it
This action bulks it to your instrument’s edit buffer
The item’s name should appear in your instrument’s screen
While in the edit buffer, you can play it, look at how it was programmed, you can edit it further, and if you wish you can STORE it on your YC to a Live Set location.
I can instantly read and tell the difference between JavaScript and TypeScript, and I had exactly the same predicament (and a few others) with SoundMondo.
It is absolutely horrifically designed and implemented.
Not sure there's any ways to make it worse.
On an iPad, it's also garishly ugly, wasteful of space like no other app I've seen on an iPad since its release, and makes a modern iPad Pro crawl when scrolling.
Sharing sounds is a good idea. Be nice if it was done nicely.
Yes, it’s a clunky app.
But I have to say that it works pretty well. And...there are some very cool sounds there!
Thank you Bad Mister.
