This was a great article. Question - and maybe I'm missing something that is covered in the manual - this article says the way to set a fixed velocity of the keybed is a global parameter. Would this be better suited to be adjusted at the voice/program/set level? Thank you.

Yes. The Velocity setting, accessible from the front panel, and/or in the Menu is global for all Live Set Sounds except the Organ section... the Organ section is made up of organs which are not velocity sensitive (and are always fixed-velocity).

See Page 11 of the YC Manual where it discusses “TOUCH” and discusses the various settings:

NOTE
Conventionally, organs do not respond to playing strength (key velocity). Because of this, the Organ Section only produces a fixed-velocity sound, regardless of playing strength, and the settings of the [TOUCH] button do not affect the Organ Section.
