I saw different opinions and videos showing that yamaha usb driver is not working properly with osx 15 and appl3 m4. I'm preparing to buy one and use it wuth my yc88.

Can You confirm that configuration will work fine ?

Hopefully you can find someone with a YC88 and Sequoia (aka macOS 15).   I don't have a YC series and am not updating from Monterey unless something forces the update.   Generally it's better to be behind the latest version for a music computer since it takes a while for manufacturers to update the drivers/software/etc.

The latest Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver supports macOS 15.x - so that's good.  The last problem I've heard someone run into getting the latest drivers to work with the latest operating systems is to make sure to set the security options.   The documentation that accompanies the drivers covers this.  Here's an excerpt from the 3.1.7 driver documentation:

Instructions for installing the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver on a Mac with macOS 11 or later

Apple has adopted new security features on Apple silicon-based Macs. To install the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver on an Apple silicon-based Mac, the security policy of the Mac needs to be changed first. Follow the instructions below to update your Security Policy, then install the driver. *If you are using a Mac with an Intel CPU, you don't need to update your Security Policy. Simply follow the instructions under [Driver installation] below.

[Change the security policy of a Mac]

This procedure is required only if the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver or the TOOLS which includes the driver is installed for the first time.

1. Shut down your Mac.

2. Press and hold the power button until you see ""Loading startup options …"". Your Mac will boot into Recovery mode.

3. Click Options (gear icon), then click Continue.

4. In macOS Recovery, select the volume you want to install the driver on and click Next.

5. In macOS Recovery, choose your account and click Next. Enter the password and click Continue.

6. In the top menu go to Utilities -> Startup Security Utility.

7. Select the system where you want to install the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver. If the disk is encrypted with FileVault, click Unlock, enter the password, and then click Unlock."

8. Click Security Policy, choose Reduced Security and check the option to allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers.

9. Click OK. Enter the password for your account and click OK.

10. Restart your Mac from Apple menu.
