Montage 8 AJK board problems?

I have a Montage 8 that suddenly would not output audio through any of the analog outputs (Headphone, Main, Assignable). I can send MIDI to cubase and return MIDI to the keyboard but no audio output can be heard. Yes I have tried everything in the manual for trouble shooting. Local Control On, Volume Up, Main + Assignable +12db. I confirmed my headphones in fact function on another audio source and tried a different sound system with the Main and Assignable outputs. I did a system reset all several times and rebooted several times with no luck. The keyboard system and display appears to be functioning normally showing activity on outputs when the keys are played, when MIDI signal inputs to keyboard, and when audition function is used.

Suppose the AJK (Analog Jack Board is Bad? Any suggestions or anyone else had similar problem?

[Analog jack board (AJK), for Yamaha Montage. This replacement jack board is Yamaha original part number ZP512400]

Yes I have tried everything in the manual for trouble shooting. Local Control On, Volume Up, Main + Assignable +12db.

Before trying the following please return the [UTILITY] > “Settings” > “Audio I/O” set the Main, Assignable Outputs back to +0dB

On this same screen, if/when you are connected via USB (“To Host”) you will see the “DIRECT MONITOR” — make sure it is set ON (green). If it is OFF the Audio Signal Flow diagram will indicate no audio is arriving at the Main L&R Analog Outputs, nor the Assignable L&R Outputs.

Direct Monitor connects the MONTAGE Tone Generator to the Analog Outputs. When set “Off” only USB Audio will be Output. This is often set to Off by the “Rec Audio on DAW” Quick Setup template. When recording with a DAW you can opt to listen to audio post (after) traversing the DAW — This is when the normal audio path between the MONTAGE Tone Generator and its Analog Outputs.

Alternate Checklist:
[UTILITY] > “Settings” > “Sound”
Make sure the Volume = 127
This Volume can be turned to 0 by playing back a GM File that includes a Master Volume Fade-out.
Although this should have been reset by a system reset… it makes the list as a common cause of unknown silence.

I definitely tried all the things Bad Mister Suggested and still no luck on getting any audio out or in through the AJK board. I was able to record USB audio out into cubase and see the waveforms on the audio file so at least the tone generator board is working. Another weird thing happens if I try to test recording audio wav file to USB - the screen freezes after I press record and then the play button. The system becomes unresponsive "freezes" on the record audio to wave page. No audio levels are shown despite playing the keys. Pressing stop button does nothing either. I am not sure how the logic boards communicate with one another but I wonder if the Record Audio to Wave via USB function relies on output from the AJK board or if this is another symptom of another failure. Yamaha has not done a very good job in keeping up with demand for parts as it takes 7-9 months to receive a replacement AJK board from a service dealer. I have been a Yamaha Synth Owner since the DX7 came out and have also owned a SY55, Motif ES8, Motif XF6, Montage 8 but I am starting to question reliability, service and product quality in the past 6-7 years.
