Hi
When I attempt to load Motif libraries into the MODX, the multi part performances do not appear.
I load "Twisted Tools.X3A" using Utility > Contents > As "Library" file > Performances. The library installed but none of the Performances in the library documentation pdf could be found. I deleted the library.
Then I repeated the process of loading the Voices instead of Performances and all the Performances in the library documentation pdf could be found, but they were only single Part Performances, not multi part Performances.
Us there a better way to load Motif libraries?
Thank you
FYI: promotional material stands some chance that samples will not be compatible due to encoding. The unsupported samples would use LPC or WXC encoding or use 8-bits. A format including any of these properties would be considered "legacy" and are not recognized/converted by MODX/Montage.
Using the demo version of the Melas Motif Waveform Editor, I scanned through "Twisted Tools Selections.n3.X3A" downloaded from the MOXF download page on Yamaha.com looking for incompatible samples. I didn't find any (they all seem to be uncompressed 16-bit). Therefore, I believe Twisted Tools is "clean" and all "Voices" / "Performances" should work.
Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R
I think part of the problem might be that the link I initially provided might have been to a different version of the Twisted Tools presets. If that's the case, my sincerest of apologies. SORRY!
Yes, so I spelled out the source and filename to dispell any ambiguity.
Since the riddle of "no performances" was solved, I moved on to the other hurdle with past promotional content which is compatibility. Thankfully, Twisted Tools is compatible.

Please, just say it explicitly!
I'm still unsure as to whether or not there's a difference in the downloads, and from your first post with the link it's definitely not at all clear that their might be a difference in the files. I'm simply ascertaining by speculation that there might be a difference in the files, quite literally guessing. But conjecture is my speciality 😉
Are there multiple different versions of Twisted Tools' magical efforts, some with and some without the Performances?
Bill, did you find anything you liked in the Twisted Tools Parts? Especially check out the leads and basses that impersonate analogue sounds. The Twisted Tools designer does an amazing job of honing envelopes. And there's a lot of unused but quite clever additional Elements in some Parts, worth turning on and trying out.
It's odd, to me, that Yamaha doesn't more heavily promote this download as it gives the greatest demonstration of AWM2 prowess I've seen, and it's not close. Daylight to second place... and I'm not even sure what that is, as everything else is much the same in terms of using quite dull and unimpressive envelopes and dynamics, whilst using more opinionated Samples.
Bill, relax!
No specifics because I can't remember them. It's not deliberate.
What I do recall is that there's lots of 4 part Performances in there, almost all of which are setup to be little song makers, many of them drawing strong inspiration from popular songs.
And there's a lot of unique Parts in there, mostly leads and basses, that are very well programmed/designed.
Wouldn't kill you to have a look. Your style won't be the same as mine. Your tastes not the same. But the general quality of the entire set is such that it's worth your time to go through it, I think.
As to the specifics of the file... is there a difference?
@Angelo
TL;DR the rest of the thread?
Your file is fine.
Load as Performances, not Parts. See above longer versions for details.
