Quick question. I have everything setup for the patten like recording, after following the montage cubase setup guide. When I'm selecting new parts while in the init multi/gm section, I select Anemone lead under synth lead for part 1, then when I play it, it only has keys registering on the right half of the keyboard and sounds nothing like when I play it just selecting it by itself from performance category search. I do see that only one part is functioning while in multi/ gm mode. But i thought the way it said to setup would allow to record a multi part performance on one channel. What is the reasoning for this?
Also, every part is playing to the keys I played with what I originally recorded on track 1, part one. So basically I selected drums for part two and it plays the drums to the pattern I made in part one. What's the deal here?
Lastly , I was curious about, when creating a song, what is copyrighted by Yamaha that couldn't be used in a professionally composed song, in regards to the sounds from the montage. I just don't know anything about that. Might be a silly question, I don't know. Thank you for your time.

No, you thought wrong, if you are using the MULTI/GM template it is for using Single Part Performances one per Part. If you want to begin recording with a Multi Part Performance, begin by selecting that Multi Part Performance.
Please read through the first article again,, it's about recording single Part Performances to Cubase. A future article will delve into record Multi Part Performances to Cubase. Multi Part Performance require a slightly different workflow than working with single Part Performances.
Skills to master first: when in [CATEGORY SEARCH], the items appearing in green occupy just one Part. If you see a listing for a Performance in green only the first Part will be used (that the reason you probably are only getting partial results.
Looking forward to the recording Multi Part Performance: start by recalling the Multi Part Performance, (do not use the Single Part template)... Start with the Multi Part Performance
In general, if you are going to record a Multi Part Performance - start there - render as audio - then continue generating musical parts.

Yah im not getting it with respect to recording one part and then overdubbing a new part over that. I keep sething it up and every new part plays with the original part. It's like it is layering the parts over each other only to play with the original beat as a single multi layered sound. I dont get it. I'm starting to think I'm retarded. This is very frustrating the number one way for me to create is duplicating the pattern mode and overdub function of the ES. This workflow is essential as it creates the rhythm, and plants a general seed for how I want a song to sound. Please help again. As I haven't been able to play or do anything since I got this keyboard because I simply can't record seperate tracks and overdub on any single track. Right now I just want to record a single track and then record a second track all the way 16 tracks, that are independent of the keys pressed in the first recording on track one. I don't want layered instruments. I would think I would be able to do this successfully after reading the setup guide. Lastly, Are there ever going to be video tutorials? I'm going a little coocoo. Thank you very much for your help and time.
