Hey there. I can't seem to get my mic to work through the moxf8.

I have followed the manual and tried plugging my Electro-Voice Co7 Cobalt Vocal Mic via the LMono input on the back of the Moxf8.
I have set the parameters to mic/line: mic. And have set the Output to LMono. When I turn on the A/D and turn up the gain, I have to have the gain all the way up and utility volume at 127 just hear myself scream in the mic. The meter shows very little sound until I yell, but I can't even get the lights to pass the green.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks so much.

Dynamic Microphones are among the weakest of all signals. Therefore it is completely normal to not only have to set the Mic/Line switch to Mic, but also to increase the Gain all the way open.

Mic is a weak signal, could be as low as -50 Output
Line is a strong signal, could be as high as +4 Output

It's typical that the Gain Knob show all-the-way down as LINE, and all-the-way up as MIC. This is how the wide range of settings between microphones (as the most in need of boost) and line level device (those that need no boost) are accommodated.

That said, you should be using an XLR-to-TS cable to connect your microphone to the A/D Input of the MOXF.
