I want to use the CP 88 as a controller to control my Tyros 5 arranger but I called Tech support for Yamaha and the said not a good idea. Is it complicated to do this ? .I really need a 88 weighted keys

Well, if all you want to do is connect them, that’s easy enough, but you don’t say what it is you want to control. Perhaps what you asked them to do was what caused that response.
On the CP88 you want to use the Master Keyboard function to setup your MIDI Out control. The CP88 can transmit on four Zones Out via MIDI.
Each Zone can be on a different MIDI Channel.
Call up the Live Set you want to use
Go to “Settings” > select “Master Keyboard” and turn the “Mode Sw” = On
Set the “Advanced Zone Sw” = On
Activate Zone 1 and begin to setup your controller functions.

Bad Master you are very awesome so glad you're here I've read a lot of your posts and they have really helped me on other issues thank you for responding back with a wonderful answer
