Hi.
I'm new in the forum. Congrats for this nice discussion place.
This is a question for CP4 users who maybe can help me by checking their units.
I just recieved my new CP4 Stage. I've noticed that the right down front corner is not good finished. See the attached picture, please.
Do you know if this is a common issue of it's only the mine?
Thanks in advance.
Something wrong with the picture.
Here a new one
Another one:
Looks like the instrument was picked up by the end cap and has shifted slightly. Since that is a removable piece, it just appears that it is askew and should be easily straightened. If you are very concerned visit an authorized dealer or repair center... that is easily straightened.
Recommended to pick the keyboard up by grasping the middle (front and back) rather than by picking it up by the ends (far left/far right)... lifting by the edges can lift the edges toward the middle which clearly is what your pictures show. All the weight is being supported by the end cap (something will eventually give and shift, if the screws become lose).
Like any 88 note full sized keyboard, moving it will cause the screws to loosen. This is fairly natural over time... the more it gets moved and/or played on, the looser the screws can get. It’s a good practice to tighten them from time to time, even if you never move the keyboard... just playing it will eventually loosen the screws. And avoid supporting the weight of the instrument with just that end cap. Always try to get under the edge to support the weight from the bottom plate... trouble can happen if you just grasp that small edge of the end piece.
Let us know.
Thanks for your reply Bad Mister.
I made these pictures yesterday in the moment when I took the piano out of its packaging. I have not manipulated that area to put the piano in the stand, I know how to pick up a musical instrument from its box. The CP4 was perfectly protected inside the box. Clearly factory sealed.
I have to say, everything seems to be very firm mounted in the afected area. This piece of plastic is very rigid and impossible to move with the hand to the right place, I think that before leaving its site it would break.
It gives me the impression that it is a factory fault. That's why I'm curious if the same thing happens to other users.
I never meant to imply that you did not know how to lift a keyboard out of a box - that was not my intention at all. I simply explained how something like what I’m seeing can happen. A factory sealed box has likely traveled a long, long way before it arrives to you. Much study has gone into packaging and shipping the instruments... and no process is perfect. This instruments are shipped on pallets and they can take quite a beating in transit. Fortunately, the vast majority survive, none the worse for wear. Some are undoubtedly going to arrive showing issues, it happens.
I assume the other end cap is straight (or you would show pictures). So you know what it should look like when leaving the factory. I also mentioned if you have any concern contact your dealer... Yamaha wants you to be 100% happy with your purchase, your Yamaha dealer wants you to be 100% happy with your purchase.
Let us know.
Of course Bad Mister. You are right in this explanation.
But I keep insisting that it does not seem like a case of damage during transport or because of bad handling. I thing it´s a very clear assembly failure.
That's why I would like to know if there are more CP4 users with the same problem like me.
By the way, here a picture of the left corner:
Check with your Yamaha dealer or your authorized Service Center.

This is not my question.
I´m asking if there are more CP4 users with the same problem.

Hi Antonio, I checked my CP4 and both end caps are in the correct place (like your left end cap).
Thank you very much, m.
