I have connected my CVP 210 via the USB port to my laptop to Sony Acid Pro, but cannot get it to play as a midi to the Iris 2 soft synth.

The CVP 210 works fine when connected directly to Iris 2, via the MME driver, which appears in the selection. However the MME driver does not appear in the selection when used as a soft synth in Acid Pro.

I have contacted Sony but they don't have an answer.

I hope somebody can help me.

Thanks

Stan

Although not a Synth product, we can certainly point you in the right direction.

You can find the Yamaha driver for your CVP-210 at the official Yamaha download site:

http://download.yamaha.com

Select your country
Type in your MODEL NAME: CVP-210
When the SEARCH RESULTS appear select: CVP-210
The drivers and all items pertinent to the CVP-210 will appear.

Find the USB-MIDI driver appropriate for your computer and operating system. Version 3.1.3 for either 32 or 64-bit systems. It will be seen by your program's MIDI setup.

Extra Credit:
In general, the Yamaha USB-MIDI driver will allow your computer to understand messages from your Clavinova; the multi media (generic) driver should not be used in professional DAW software (typically)... This is probably why it does not even allow you to select it. There are two kinds of computer users when it comes to music: those who "play" and those who "playback". You are now among the smaller select group of user (called "musicians") 🙂 we are certainly a niche group, that demands timing accuracy. Those who only playback music (I call them "civilians") are not so demanding - and there are literally millions of them. A 300ms delay between pushing play and hearing music is hardly even noticed. The timing demands placed on the computer by musicians attempting to playback and play along, are far, far more exacting. A timing delay of more than 30ms is laughable and will prevent you from playing along. This is the reason individual drivers exist.

You will be communicating MIDI to your computer from the CVP.
If you have additional questions post back in the OFF TOPIC area, if you don't mind. Hope this helps.
