Hello all,

i have a MOTIF ES6, which works great, but has 1 problem.
1 key has no aftertouch/sensitivity. When you gently push the key (it's a D key i believe) it gives the full volume.
so you cannot play it softly. all other keys work fine. once it was good, a few years ago, but the problem got worser, and now it is loud all the time.

what did i do so far too try to repair it? i replaced the part of the keybed that the keys touch. (desoldering/replacing with new part/resoldering)

i was convinced that was the problem. and after blood sweat and tears. the problem still is there.
then...
i went ahead and completely removed the keyboard from the synth, hoping there would be more electronic parts or pieces to clean. so i did,. replaced it all,
and.. it didn't work. still no aftertouch..

anyone has a suggestion? i have to mention that the circuit board where the keybeds are on, the long brown one beneath the keys, had some oxidation on and around some components. but would that be a problem? i cleaned it as far as i could.

hoping to hear a reaction, kind regards from The Netherlands,

Peter.

Please take the Synthesizer to qualified authorized service center. I doubt if it is a problem that cleaning will fix.

i replaced the part of the keybed that the keys touch. (desoldering/replacing with new part/resoldering), so that is more than cleaning, but you are right.
Although there is no service center here in the area...

Test without the plastic key vs (broken "D" ) vs another working note without the plastic key. Push on the contacts or AT strip and see if there's a difference. Maybe the plastic key has something wrong with it or what's aligning it.

I would not expect both the AT and key velocity sensor for a given key to both fail. AT is a big shared strip.

From what you describe, I don't even see your testing includes aftertouch. Maybe there's nothing wrong with AT.
