Hi,
I'm using the MOX primarily as a live keyboard playing voices (no arp, etc) . I'm starting to run out of banks in Song Mode to store my multi timbral setups which I access in master mode. Will pattern mode serve the same purpose as song mode ? Whats the primary difference between the two? Using the Melas editors to save voices, edit songs, and set up master mode.
Thanks,
Ben
Welcome to Yamaha Synth!
Multi-timbral setups in the MOX are referred to as "Mixing" programs. There are 64 in SONG mode and there are 64 in PATTERN mode (128 programs). And an additional 32 can be stored as recallable MIX TEMPLATES. (These 32 additional can be recalled individually and will replace the currently selected Mixing).
You can store 160 Mixing setups, total, internally.
An unlimited number can be store as VST PRESETS inside the Cubase MediaBay (Sound Browser).
An unlimited number can be stored with the Melas suite of a Editors.
STORE a MIX Template:
From MIXING
Press [STORE]
Press [F2] TEMPLATE
Here you can select to overwrite the data in any of the 32 Mix Templates (initially they contain "placeholder" program examples).
Rename the entry and press [ENTER] to set.
The additional 32 Mix Templates are stored with the MOX System settings (which are automatically backed up when you SAVE an ALL data file) and can be recalled anytime you are using the sequencer. Because Mixing setups are the same for Song and Pattern mode, a Mixing program stored to a Template can be recalled in either mode.
Recall a MIX Template MOX:
Go to any empty SONG or PATTERN
Press [MIXING]
Press [F4] TEMPLATE
Press [SF1] MIX
Use the Number parameter to select the Template by Name
Press [ENTER] to restore the MIX Template to the currently selected MIX location.
Hi,
Thanks for the helpful info. Can you access the 32 mix templates from Master Mode (via Song/Pattern Mode) ?
Thanks,
Ben
Not until you recall them.
