When using the Motif XS6 VST Editor with Cubase, successfully connected, is it possible to control the "EQ" parameters of individual voices in the VST Editor?
Ideally, this control would be from surface controllers on the Motif, but any MIDI controller would do, such as a Quick Control, etc. Thanks 🙂

If you are using the Motif XS VST Editor as VST within Cubase, each PART has a three band EQ, that is real time controllable by dedicated Motif XS front panel knobs.
When properly setup, when you select a PART on the Motif XS (or in the Editor) you are in touch with that PART
Select the PART > on the left front panel you have 24 Knob parameters selected in three rows of 8: TONE 1, TONE 2, ARP/FX
Use the [SELECTED PART CONTROL] button to select the second row - which gives you access to the EQ knobs, Pan, and System Reverb and Chorus...
Moving the EQ Knobs will generate System Exclusive messages (which move the Low, Mid and High EQ) which can be recorded to the control that PART's EQ. (The Pan, Reverb and Chorus send Control Change messages which can be recorded to an AUTOMATION Lane or directly to the track.
Make sure that you have SYSTEM EXCLUSIVE active in your Cubase Preferences: Go to Cubase Preferences > MIDI > MIDI FILTER
Usually Cubase has System Exclusive FILTERED - remove the FILTER so that you can record and automate your EQ changes.
Hope that helps.
"when properly setup" . . .is always the key right? LOL
I'm going to print your answer and go double-check everything you've listed. - Thanks Mr. Bad Mister
And . . . I wasn't 100% properly setup. I had SysEx filtered in preferences, and changing that took care of it. Thanks BM!
