Why are Assignable Switches referred to as AF1&2 in Performance and Arpeggio names?

AF = Assignable Function Switch, in full.

Agreed, Yamaha has problems, repeatedly, finding a consistent blend of readily discernible nomenclature semantics, common sense language usage, legacy terminology and marketing buzzword bingo.

Previous keyboards abbreviated these as AF in the past and there is carry-over. Also AF is shorter than A.SW which is how [ASSIGN 1] and [ASSIGN 2] are abbreviated.

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R
