I tried loading the MOXF Inspiration in a flash on the MODX but some of the voices weren't playing.. need help regarding this...
Doesn't work. The sample format is not supported. WXC, LPC, and 8-bit samples are not supported.
Same thread for Montage - which is directly related.

That Montage thread is really interesting.
When looking at the various libraries available for the Motif XF (i.e. on Motifator), is there any way to know whether a given library will work on the Montage/MODX? i.e. whether its wave data is in the more current format, vs. if they may include older (WXC, LPC, and 8-bit) waves that won't come over?
For things that don't come over, is there any chance that the Melas Wave Editor can convert from an older format to new (since it supports all those different formats anyway, I believe)?
As for Inspiration in a Flash, the S700 is already in the MODX. Are any others?
Another Yamaha download for the Motif XF/MOXF was the CP1 piano. Does that work on the Montage/MODX? And is there any reason to bother, or might that also already be in the MODX?
There's no chance that the JM tools convert this format because the JM tools also cannot render this format. If you try to play these using your PC/Mac "soundcard" - you will notice silence. Also the waveform is not displayed to edit these as the format is not understood by the tools in order to generate the waveform.
The JM tools show you the sample format - so you can see if the sample is unsupported. This is something the demo version can do for you as well as the full version.
Part of the reason there's no chance is that these formats turned into a form of copy protection - which would be defeated if you could buy a 3rd party program to "get around" this side of the sample format.
There are a few already in MODX. Also, there have been specific requests for instruments which easysounds has released as single instrument libraries. I can only think of one - the Mandolin.
See this thread for how to obtain the Mandolin content: https://www.yamahasynth.com/ask-a-question/tremolo-arpeggiation-for-mandolin
I don't know if the Premium Contents Pack translates well or not. Same for other packs. I think it (the CP1 in there) converts as others seemed to have expressed success.
The XSpand Your World pack has lots of old carry-over from Motif 1st generation which use an older format and doesn't really work. I think users generally see IIAF as a supersede so that's what gets the most press.
I think the expected way for users to figure this out is to install the pack and find out what doesn't work. Then elect to share experience on the forum to document - or keep it to themselves. The clues given thus far are - if the pack was given away for free in the past, then chances are it doesn't work. Except for those that do.

LOL.
I guess for the non-free ones (i.e. the ones on Motifator I was talking about), the best thing to do would be to contact the developers to ask prior to purchase.
The paid ones have been blanket commented that they should work. At least, the trend is for free stuff to use the copy-protection and paid for stuff to not use the copy-protection. Motifator has both free and paid ones there. IIAF was/is free. The CP1 was/is free as part of the PCP for MOXF. The ones that do cost, certainly you should attempt contacting the content provider to see if they either know it works or re-sample a new version.
Yamahamusicsoft is a good resource - as you can search for Montage or MODX (MODX wasn't indexed that well last I checked) to find packs that are known to work.

Kind of counter-intuitive, if you ask me. 😉
Yamahamusicsoft is a good resource
Thanks for the lead, I wasn't familiar with that, I only knew Motifator from my MOXF days. Geez, how are you supposed to keep up... it took me a while to even find this place! 😉

This site did, at one point, have links out to the keyboard download pages. That was semi-helpful. If you see room for improvement or any suggestions, feel free to post them in the "Site Feedback" section here.

First pick the region, then in the upper-left, click the "hamburger menu" button - it has 3 horizontal lines, then "Synthesizers and Music Production Tools", then click "Synthesizers"
... or you can start here (if USA is your region): https://usa.yamaha.com/products/music_production/synthesizers/index.html
... then click on a picture of what you have (MODX, presumably)
Here's the USA shortcut for MODX: https://usa.yamaha.com/products/music_production/synthesizers/modx/index.html
The "downloads" tab is what I most frequently use. There is lots of good content here in other tabs.

Not sure if it's relevant to the original poster but the Montage Expanded pack which is free of charge seems to load and play OK for me 🙂
hope Yamaha releases a Montage/MODX compatible version of Inspiration in a Flash just like they've done with Chick' Mark V collection
