I have an iPad connected to my MODX+. Is it possible to apply effects to this? I am a relatively new owner and have no used the A/D input yet, but I believe it is possible to apply effects there - just not sure if the same is applicable to USB audio.

If you can choose the audio channel output from the iPad as "Digital L/R" (not Main L/R) then this can be used under Common/Audio to apply insertion effects and/or send to system effects.

It depends on what the software let's you do.

Not all software will label the iPad audio outputs (MODX audio inputs) the same way. If you have a choice of multiple options then choose each and determine which is the Digital L/R. There should only be two for MODX and three for Montage (since Assign L/R is also an audio input for Montage).

You will be able to apply SYSTEM EFFECTs (Reverb and Variation) and the MASTER EFFECT to signals coming into the MODX via the Digital In.
If you wish to also apply INSERTION EFFECTs you should connect your iPAD via an analog connection to the A/D Input.

The Insertion Effect processors are only available to the internal MODX Parts (16 synth Parts plus the A/D In Part). Insert Effects are considered an actual part of the PART (so to speak).
