Hi there!
I'm joking with transforming midifiles into arpeggios. It normally works.
But now i have a problem: i ve done with SONAR cakewalk a  2 tracks (bass and drums) project in 2 separate tracks.
I  exported it to midi1 file. Then i loaded it to pattern BUT unexpectedly the 2 tracks sound all mixed togheter into track 1 and i cannot get out from this trouble.
I send you the file in order to see if you can help me - Thanks!
If i listen to it with ANVIL studio midifile reader, the tracks are separated as normal... what can i do?

It looks like both tracks are set to the same MIDI channel. Maybe edit this so each track gets its own MIDI channel.

Also, I notice the bass track has lots of extra notes in the high (E6-G6) and low (C0-F0) registers. I'm guessing this is maybe articulation. This may be fine if the articulation is meant for the MODX. If it's for something else then you may need to edit this.

With my independent MIDI editor I switched track 2 from Channel 1 to Channel 10 because this is the only way for this particular editor to make the MIDI data sound as drums. This is not true of the MODX. You can set this track to channel 2 and this should place the drums on Part 2.

Last, I notice the bass part has some amount of CC messages. My MIDI editor wasn't able to tease these out -- I forgot about Cubase, though.

Now loading the MIDI file with Cubase LE AI 12 (which is a non-cost included licensed DAW that comes with a new MODX) - I import the MIDI file into an empty project. Automatically, Cubase decides to split these two tracks into two MIDI tracks and labels them appropriately. Cubase tells me that the bass part uses CC 64 = Sustain and CC 1 = Modulation. This is normal stuff - checks out.

Cubase does show both of these tracks as Channel 1.

Sorry, it was a writing mistake: i meant "i found the way..."

BUT NO! not solved!!! i spoke too early! The 2 tracks are both on channel 1. i thought i found in sonar the way to change the drum channel, but i ponly changed something into sonar arpeggiator. The event list remain on channel 1. And i dont find the way to change it.

The CC messages are normal - I didn't see anything strange there - but the high/low note-on/off events are unusual if not specifically for MODX. They do not seem like actual intentional notes due to tight grouping and "pattern". However, one issue at a time.

Also note that you can "get rid" of high and low notes simply by just changing the note range to filter out notes outside that range.

Once you edit the channel, let me know if that fixes the bulk of the issues.

BTW, Igor - thanks for providing the MIDI data that's problematic. It helps immensely to get on the same page when there is a problem and having the MIDI data and other necessary setup data to reproduce a given problem is key to quick and efficient turn-around.
