Hello. I am interested in the MODX since the inclusion of the Pattern Mode. My question is based on the chaining aspect. On the Motif XF you can mute tracks and insert tempo changes on the fly as you record the chain. In the MOXF the process is done after the chain is complete. Are any of these features available in the Pattern chain on the MODX? Thank you.

You can Mute Tracks and insert Tempo Changes using the MODX on board recorder. The MODX is different from the Motif XF and MOXF, so how this is accomplished is a bit different.
What is similar is that you must create a linear MIDI structure (Song) in order to place Mutes and Tempo Changes. There are many differences between previous models and the MODX. The features of the MODX are designed to work for how the MODX works (not for how the previous models work, obviously).
You have 8 Scenes in each Pattern.
A Scene has 16 Tracks.
Each Track can contain a Phrase
Each Phrase can be from 1 to 256 Measures in Length.
The Length of each Scene can be dynamically changed while playing back.
Data can be moved from the looping Pattern Scenes, to a linear Song, and back as necessary to construct your Scenes.
Pattern Scenes can “chained” into a playback order... the Chain can be converted to a linear Song.
The linear Song is where you can record your Track Mutes and Tempo Changes.
See this post for how construction can work: Post on Pattern > Chain > Song construction
Thank you! This is perfect for me because I want lay down parts of my song while conserving scenes. I do this on my MOXF so I do not have to use all 16 sections of a pattern. I will also read up on that post. Thank you once again!
