There was no update for the MODX+ yet, so the factory settings are the latest ones.

What would be the latest firmware number? I didn't see a firmware update on the Yamaha site for it. nor what was the latest number.

You will find the latest update, when available, on the Yamaha Modx+ download page

On the 'Utility -> Settings -> System' you can see the version installed on your instrument as shown on pages 236,237 of the reference doc. That doc, and others are available at the same link.

Also make sure you are using the LATEST Steinberb driver available and that of MODX connect.

At the bottom of that link page you will find a link to download the 512 Motif XF performances which, although the readme refers to Montage, can be loaded into your Modx+. This is the README
