Performance "RuleThe Earth"

Hi there

I understand it might be like memorizing a mathematical formula without understanding the concept behind it, but I have been delving into Part 3 (PWM percussion) of this performance, and looking at the various pages of settings (arpeggios, etc.) however I cannot reproduce this part in my own user performance.
I have set the arp to MB2 8beat slow C as per the library performance however it seems to be a straight 8th note rhythm - not the triplet rhythm in Rule The earth.
BM - sorry I didn't get back to you with further details on my question from the other day - but the the level of headache indicated to me that I wasn't going with the flow so I have jumped out of that water and will walk back upstream for a while.

The Arp “MB2_8Beat Slow_C” is an 8th note Chord intelligent phrase.

Select Part 3 of the “Rule the Earth” Performance.
Press [EDIT]
Touch “Arpeggio” > “Common” > the two columns of parameters on the right side of the screen allow you to adjust how the phrase is interpreted... how it feels.
You’ll see Velocity, Gate Time, Arp/MS Grid, Quantize Strength, Unit, Swing, Octave Shift and Octave Range.

These parameters are referred to as “Play FX” and can radically change how the selected Part responds to the assigned Arp Phrase.
“Unit” = 66% — this is what is giving it its triplet feel.

When “Unit Multiply“ (the full name of the parameter) is 100% you will hear the Phrase reference the current Tempo. You will hear 8 eighth per measure at the current Tempo.
100% = plays/referencing the set tempo
200% = the phrase takes twice as long to play through once (half-time)
50% = the phrase plays in half the amount of time (double time)
66% = the phrase is now going to play referencing a quicker triplet feel

There are 10,231 Arpeggios... these Play FX parameters can radically change what you hear. You can apply the Unit Multiply to change straight grooves into shuffles, straight time into triplets.

Does the Swing parameter also give the triplet feel? I'll test it out later...

Not really. Typically, musical sub-divisions are strict. Each Quarter Note is made up of two equally spaced 8th Notes. Each 8th Note is made up of two equally timed 16th Notes. Each gets 50%.
Swing offsets the off beat (even numbered beat) such that the first 16th is slightly longer than the second.

However, you can also advance the offset, for anti-swing...

Swing (the amount in clock ticks that the "swung" note is offset).
The "swung" note is the offbeat note (the even number count).
In eighth note swing: You would count “1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +” _ It is the “+” count, that is affected (shifted)
In sixteenth note swing: You would count “1e+a2e+a3e+a4e+a” _ It is the “e” and the “a” that are affected (shifted)

On data that is 8th Note based there are no even numbered 16ths to offset... so mileage will vary depending on the data you apply it to...

Find a straight 16th Note hihat and experiment... with Grid, Quantize Strength, and Swing.
