I was trying to store points on a Smart Morph to scenes so I could jump to the points I wanted. I found that only points that are on the Super Knob link path can be saved to scenes. If I choose a point that isn't on the path, it won't be stored. This was confusing me for a while until I checked out the preset scenes and saw how they worked.

Also, make sure that Super Knob Link is turned on in the Smart Morph > Super Knob section, and that Super Knob and Super Knob Link are turned on in the Performance's Scene tab for each scene.

Anyway, I hope in the future random points in a Smart Morph can be saved in Scenes.

Excellent observations.

I hope in the future random points in a Smart Morph can be saved in Scenes.

What you can do along this line is... when you find a random pixel on the 32x32 grid that you would like to recall, press [STORE] to make it new (temporary) Performance. Part 1 of this new Performance will represent that particular location.

You can then “merge” it with your original SmartMorph Performance, adding it as Part 2.
Rinse and repeat... You can create seven such Performances (picking random pixels) from your original Smart Morph... each time merging the Part 1 result onto your original Smart Morph as a successively higher Part. This will give you an eight Part Performance; your original Smart Morph in Part 1 and its seven ‘children’ merged into Parts 2 thru 8... added as new FM-X KBD CTRL Parts, and you can now use the SCENEs to switch seamlessly between them by using the ability to recall current KBD CTRL active status.

The Super Knob can still scan along its point-to-point path recall many more new timbres in Part 1, and it can still be programmed, as usual to influence each of the other 7 ‘children’ — as they each will have their own Control Sets and parameters.

You can then delete the temporary Performances... because your original will contain all the selected random points stored as individual KBD CTRL Parts recallable via the [SCENE] buttons.
