If I connect the FC4 pedal to sustain input nothing happens, but if a connect the pedal to another input it works perfectly. I need to use it as a sustain pedal, not as a switch for another function.
I set the FC4/5 as the sustain pedal in Utility-Settings-Sound.
Is that a factory failure?

If it isn't working on the sustain input but is working on a foot switch it is more likely there is an issue with the sustain jack itself and might require service. Please contact an authorized servicer in your location to have it looked at.
