i wanna purchase a workstation and it looks like its gonna have to be the moxf because of the seamless sequencer. Does anyone know if the Modx will get an update that when a track is recorded, I do NOT have to stop the sequencer in order to find a sound I like. Seems like moxf is the last of a real workstation in terms of beat makers needs.

Nobody on this forum has any information (that they can share here, anyway) about Yamaha's specific plans for future updates to the MODX...my take on it is that a change like you describe, which probably would require fundamental redesign of the sequencer, is unlikely to happen...
