Hi.
I see in one Namm Montage video on Namm with Phil that the Montage manage user waveforms, so if i understand fine, there is no "flash ram" or "sand ram" memory view like on the XF to manage and delete waveforms in utility.
But what about for example if i load a piano sound bank using 500Mo of user waveforms in the Montage and some month later, i have a new piano sound bank for example 800Mo, i want to use only the second sound bank are "erease" the first, does by deleting the first piano performances (singles/multi) it delete also the 500 Mo of user waveforms associated and free the 500Mo of place in the user flash memory or there is a "process" to done it, to resume how does it work to made free place in the montage flash memory ?
The second question is about the library, how we load something in a library, is it only thru the "file" view or if i have users performances can i save them in a library place 1 to 8 ? Can we save for example one by one user performance to a library and add them to a library form 1 to 8 as we want or does it only a one time loading thru and Motage file on the usb key to load performances in a library.
I'm curious about this.
Phil, like you do not have the reference manual, perhaps you do not have the answer or you not have experiment this, but if you have some answers it will be nice to know 😉
Thank you.
Joël
Any discussions about "best practices" are best talked about when we've had to time figure out the ramifications of how you assemble things - so we will have to wait to fully answer this question. But a LIBRARY FILE (.X7L) can be made by a Montage. It will define everything that goes into a LIBRARY FILE. You do not have any Library Files as of yet. If you are a Motif XF user you have .X3A (All data files) from which the Montage can extract specific data.
You Load your data into USER memory of the Montage. If it is a Motif XF File. (.X3A) the Montage will import all 512 USER VOICES as single PART PERFORMANCES to locations within the current system. There is compatibility with Motif XF; The User Voices become Single Part Performances. The Parts are available in the Search Engine, Categorized by instrument Type (Sort by Default, Name, Date).
Everyone is so focused on the AWM2 engine (I guess its what is most familiar if you are coming from the Motif-series) but is only one half of this marvelous synthesizer.
There are locations designated for PRESET Parts and others for USER Parts.
I see some 15 Banks of 128 Preset Parts...
Thank you Phill, we will wait the Reference Manuel 😉
