Hi
I recently bought a Montage 6. It holds a lot of promise as a synth, a midi controller, and also as an interface to the DAW using Montage Connect. I don't know of another synth that even tries to do what Montage Connect does, and if I find one I would like to try it.

I cannot get Montage connect to work on my new Mac Mini M1 using logic. I also notice that logic is behaving very strangely after installing Montage connect and that behavior went away after deleting all the Montage Connect files.

I tried following the detailed instructions for making this work, but no dice. I am not willing to wipe my computer and reinstall everything to get this to work, as I am not happy to be relying on Rosetta really and the Connect features ar2 convenient but not essential.

Does anyone know if Yamaha has shared their timeline for making Yamaha Connect work nativley in Apple Silicon?

I don't think wiping a system is required and wouldn't have so readily done this as another user did. I just think they weren't very far on the new OS and saw no downside to a reinstall (as we would). Certainly wiping a system was never a suggestion offered.

That's all I can comment on since roadmap would have to come from the source.

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R

One of the reasons people buy Macs is to not be a system admin for themselves.

And Norton's Ghost, whilst wonderful on a PC, is not the "best practice" way of restoring machines in Apple land. It's Time Machine. Which is appropriately named. It sucks time like no other machine.

Hello,

The current issue is MONTAGE and MODX Connect are not native in the new Apple Silicon world. They require Rosetta 2. As soon as an update happens we'll let you know..we don't currently have a timeline as to when this update might drop. The good news is the Yamaha Steinberg USB driver works in all current Mac OS versions.
