very strange what they say:

MONTAGE6 / MONTAGE7 / MONTAGE8 with firmware versions earlier than 1.50"

Well, of course mine is not earlier than 1,50 anymore... What the hell?

Just updated my Montage from 1.50 from download.yamaha.com. It's now1.51. Nice surprise: No need to reinstall anything, all memories are still there...

But why is it not listed and can exclusively be found under that link? which by the way points to montage 8. Is this update the same for all montages?

It is officially listed. I went through download.yamaha.com selected my country, went through the usual search pages and there it was. Same place I got my other downloads. I guess maybe other countries do not have it yet, if it is still night there.

Hello Chris - sorry, but v1.51 is not there. Also there is no word 'here' to click as well. I've just checked the Yamaha download site, and it's not there either. So what's going on?

Clicked on Stefan's link, and that produced a German version of v1.51 - don't suppose that matters? But where is the English version?

There is - to my very best knowledge - no German version. The Montage has no localized versions.

In the download all READMEs and so on are in English. Even the HTML page from where you download is pretty much English. With miniscule amounts of German text. You can probably guess what it means from the context 😉 .

Hello Stefan - you're right - it was badly worded, what I was after was why the download wasn't on the normal Yamaha download site? On my computer it always comes up for the Montage 8 - and I always first change that to my machine, which is a Montage 7, as invited to do. This time I noticed the download was there for the Montage 8 - but not for the Montage 7 or 6. Another glitch, no doubt? There seem to be a lot of those ... I am hesitating about installing it, as I have no problems with v1.50 and am unlikely to switch off while switching on ... what else is lurking down there?

I was called away again this morning, and have only just returned. I think I'll wait a few days to see what surfaces before embarking on a 97Mb update - seems a heck of a lot for a small glitch?

Thanks for link Chris, but the problem remains - click to select the Montage 7 and the update disappears ... hmm!

I´m there 🙂 It worked. I think the update is the same for all Montages, so ignore the fact that it´s not there when you go to Montage 7.

Hello - well, the mystery deepens further - it's disappeared again. I've just visited both the European and the American Yamaha sites, and v1.51 has been pulled just like v1.50 was. Yesterday I found it (for Montage 8 only) - today it's gone. Does anyone have the remotest idea what's going on here? BM, you usually have your ear close to the ground - do you know the state of play with v1.51? Is it too, flawed?

Hi Rod, actually I just looked. I could find it in the usual way. And the link I posted above still works as well.

Personally, I think a Friday rollout is asking for trouble from the web team. It's a day, at least here in the States, that employees tend to leave early. It's a day where the most fires come up to fight. There tends to be a storm of personal and business issues that clouds Fridays. The last v1.50 release was not on a Friday. Ignore the contents of 1.50. The execution of the launch (landing on various web pages) was fairly flawless with the v1.50 release.

As of 3/11 early morning, here's what I see.

... I could keep going - but it looks like the USA was just a botched web release (team responsible for landing the update) and shouldn't "mean" anything except for poor execution.

If not solved over the weekend, I would expect EOB Monday that the "United States" locale will have v1.51 available on download.yamaha.com.

The v1.50 was pulled using an abundance of caution. Even with the flaw/bug in v1.50 - many beta testers and Yamaha employees continued to use this version without incident.

If in the USA - maybe download the Canadian version, eh?
