The best way to transfer data between two MONTAGEs is using a USB stick. Files made on one MONTAGE will load into the other, without issue.

You want to ensure that both instruments have the latest firmware (OS, Operating System), at all times. This means when you update your home instrument, be sure to do the same to the second instrument — this way they both will have the same set of new features.

If you create a BACKUP FILE (.X7A) on your MONTAGE at home, you can take that same USB stick and load that file to the second MONTAGE. It will duplicate all of your data in the second instrument.

A BACKUP File will contain all the User programs, all installed Library data, the Utility settings and the Data Utility Folders... in other words, it represents a backup of all data in the MONTAGE. This file can be loaded by any other MONTAGE 6/7/8.
