In a dimly lit room, the Montage can be really bright. Is there any way to dim the machine overall -- all the lights, the screen, etc.

Finds some things about the filter but page 173 is on point.
You can turn the SuperKnob Brightness down or off
You can turn the glow lamps to 1/2, 1/4, or off.
So, yes, you can.
(I recommend wearing sunglasses at night).

So really, the answer is "no you can't".
You can adjust the intensity of the Super Knob. And you can adjust the intensity of the the buttons when they are in dimmed mode, but not when fully illuminated.
And you can't adjust the LEDs (if thats the correct term) on the sliders and knobs).
I too would like to be able to dim EVERYTHING.

I suspect we're not the only ones. I hope the hardware is capable of this so they can add the feature via a firmware update.
