I am thinking of getting the Montage. I have a few sound modules and wanted to know if the Super Knob sends MIDI messages to a sound module so that it can have the same effect on the sound module?

No, whatever sound module you are thinking of, is not capable of interpreting the messages output by the Super Knob. They are exclusive to the Montage system. Don't fixate on the Super Knob, however, it is one of several assignable controllers on the Montage. Each PART has 8 Assignable knobs - so you can setup whatever you want to control on your external sound module and control it. Each PERFORMANCE is customizable as to what the AssignKnobs 1-8 are sending.
The Super Knob is for the "Super" keyboard (Montage) 🙂
