CUBASE PRO 10 on its way. I got a hair and just went ahead ordered the full pro version. The post Bad Mister post response he made on how chord changes across Montage arps, and the vari audio auto harmony I think was the trick πŸ™‚ to get me really intrigued. Saw some vids on how to set that all up, it looked pretty straight forward. . I love the virtual drums, bought a few packs that I assume I will need to reinstall. I assume the best procedure is to uninstall previous versions, and install fresh. Can't wait to play with vari-audio and add some real harmonies to tracks.

Excellent. Be sure to checkout the Steinberg Channel on YouTube.

When it comes to installation, don’t guess. Read the documentation. While it is not always perfect, you can avoid unnecessary things like uninstalling previous versions. Reading the documentation you may find that someone worked really hard to make the new installation find your previous versions and may actually allow you to capture your preferences and previous setups ... it may tell you specifically to remove previous version... I’m just saying, don’t guess! Don’t act without knowing, it avoids unnecessary pitfalls.

Too much fun!, I got it up and running and one of the first things I did was extract a chord chart from my midi, and use the create some vocal harmonies. oh my god....., what a treat. I figured out I don't need to dissolve the midi tracks from "any" anymore, I can just record on the multitrack template as provided and it just works, sweet. I am very much a newbie, but I got the Mackie stuff and driver / config all set up pretty quick using some of your old posts and vids.

One of the the things you mentioned in a previous post was "say at Measure 36 you want to change the tense of the chord you played from Fm7b5 to F9, you can have it adjust all the tracks to accommodate the change... including the chords you played, the lead line, the vocals, wow, so cool."

For this to work is the chord chart going to change the recorded midi tracks, and the variaudio tracks on the fly to match the changed chord progression, or is it going to play the montage for me and I record new midi, and create new harmonies? I have to play around the with chord track and see if it can drive / edit previously recorded tracks, and change the notes? Having a blast on day 1 πŸ™‚

Yes, Cubase Pro has the Input Transformer... which, when using the MONTAGE multi-channel record template, rejects all but the appropriate channel. Also you have a SYSEX only Track... when you set your β€œSuper Knob CC” and β€œScene CC” to send Sysex this makes it much easier to playback individual Tracks yet still have them still follow their interaction with the automation. Having a chord intelligent Sequencer and VariAudio is pretty darn cool.

Please see this video... for details on adjusting you MIDI Tracks with the Chords....
