Did Yamaha "change" the layout of the Montage...?

In some photos the Montage has a white line on the volume slider - and in some photos it has a red line.

In some photos there is white lettering around the amber control buttons - in some photos that lettering is blue.

Not sure - I haven't seen red silkscreen on any Montage and cannot recall any in person that have any red.

Blue-vs-white: the darker blue silkscreen color on black background is a complaint of mine since it's so darn difficult to see. I could see marketing (of some random person) wanting to "doctor" the photo so you could read this text. I doubt a change has been made - but if there is a run-in change for contrast enhancement - this would be a good thing.

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R

If you notice the attached photo has a white line on the master volume slider - however the Montages I have seen had a red line on the master volume slider - and not white like in the picture.

And I agree - the blue lettering (that I have seen on an actual Montage) is MUCH harder to see than the white lettering (in the attached photo) would be - especially if you were on stage - be it not well lit or having colored lighting, etc.

I think the white lettering and the white line on the master volume looks much better than what I have seen on an actual Montage...

That is why I was wondering if Yamaha has changed the layout of the Montage and the posted photo shows it?

Or if this is an earlier photo (this same photo is all around the Internet) - and Yamaha changed the Montage after this photo?

Etc.

Ok - I understand now. You mean the slider knob itself. It's an amber-ish, brown-ish line on mine - not really red. So I guess I see what you mean. The color of this doesn't really bother me either way since it has no performance or usage value for me.

Well, the color must have meant something to someone at Yamaha - because they changed it... lol πŸ™‚

If you also notice...

Some pictures of the Montage have just the word "SCENE" under the scene buttons - and other pictures have the words "SCENE STORE" under the scene buttons.

So there are different versions (newer, older?) of the Montage...?

We try to stick to the β€œhow to” questions, not β€œhow come” questions... but often the first photos of the product are often of prototype units, usually they are 95% or more cosmetically correct but sometimes not. But the very first units to arrive are not β€œproduction” models... all units that ship to customers are production units.
