Edit preset keybanks - ever possible?

I have some tunes where I would love to use the presets - but "thin out" the multisamples in order to make the resulting performance sound - well - less realistic. I know I can build my own multi-sample from the ground up using existing software. However, I'm not aware that we have any access to the presets except for recording the sound output (resampling).

Are there any plans or future provisions for editing the preset keybank? I'm not concerned with getting raw waveform data - but just deleting some entries so this forces more of the effect where the sample speeds up as it goes higher and starts sounding "bad" / "processed". This is actually the desired effect.

I know I can pitch stretch up to +24 - but I was looking for direct keyboard control (playing piano keys to get higher/lower notes) rather than setting up a sequence, arp, or other control mapping.

Hello Jason - maybe I've not understood the question (that won't be a first!) but why not simply edit the pre-set and save it as a User voice?

This still points to the preset waveform which does not have the capability to edit the keybank. Montage only allows building a keybank from scratch using your own sample(s)/waveform. The presets are a "black box" and are currently "all or nothing" in terms of what I am asking to thin out - no matter if the preset waveforms are presented as presets or a copy in a user performance.

The rationale for this is copy protection of the original sampled material - which I understand - so I'm not asking for access to the sample data. Just the ability to modify the preset parameters which are outside of the sample domain - including deleting samples.

Hello Jason - Ah! I think I see your point - I guess much depends on what you can do with the finished sound. Can a sound made by blending and tweaking someone else's sounds be presented as 'original' (or sold?). Gets tricky ...

I cannot sell anything with parameters. Again, not asking to extract the sample. So the preset would retain its inability to transfer to storage media. More looking to see if the option to mask certain settings would be possible without too much of a discussion about the keyboard not being a sampler - because there's a difference in sampler features (which deals with the sample) and parameters - which deals with numbers - including the ability to "orphan" a sample so it is not assigned a range or intentionally placed at the extremes to force the samples left at their original positions to be "stretched" a further distance.

I can get there by resampling the sound (off-board gear) and building from scratch - but there is a lot to be gained by allowing for more tweaks of the parameters which still allows Montage to stay away from acting as a sampler.

"Ever possible" in the title implying it is not currently possible and wondering if the (Yamaha) team would consider this as a future feature - or if it's pinned as hogwash. I accept either direction or some point between.
