Hello - I am completely ay sea here.Wanted to download BM's series on FM-X - but can't make head nor tail of it. Part 1 download is labelled 'P4.X7B' and Part 2 is labelled 'P3.X7B' ,,, ? Downloaded them anyway, and after a hassle got them extracted to my 'Montage Articles' folder. But when I click on them, all I get is the 'Connect' screen popping up.

Why are they X7B files anyway? I expected them to be PDF. What should I be doing here, please?

The article is online, the download is .X7B file, that you know how to bulk to your Montage.

Download the file, it is used in the article as the "example".

Thanks BM - the .X7B should have told me, but I was certain your articles would be downloadable ... I suppose they can't be made so? They'll just get buried in past Posts somewhere, and that means not only having to log on every time, but digging through all the Posts instead of just clicking on my download. I'll be referring to them for weeks, you see. Slow learner ...

Incidentally, I get P3' with no trouble (apart from trying to find it in 'Syn Comp' when I thought it would be in 'No Assign'), but 'P4' always loads as 'P3' ... I check in the 'Load' window that the File Name is correct as P4.X7B when P4 is selected, and then tap the big green 'Load' box, the screen changes to 'Recall' and Montage says it's receiving Bulk Data - but the 'Recall' File Name box says P3, and that's what turns up on Montage. 3 times so far ...

Using Microsoft windows and the Chrome browser, to download ANY web page - you would print the page to a PDF file.

1) Press ALT key
2) Press Return - a menu on the upper-right should pop up
3) Press P (the "P" key, lowercase is fine)
4) On the left-hand side you should see a menu with a "Print Cancel" or "Save Cancel" set of buttons at the top, a line directly under that, and options under that line. The first option is "Destination" and a "Change ..." button - press the "Change ..." button if the destination is not already print to PDF.
4a) If you pressed the "Change ..." button because the current setting is not "Save as PDF" then this change menu, under "Local Destinations" should have as the first option "Save to PDF" - click that.
5) Press the blue "Save" button
6) A box is going to pop up which allows you to name the PDF anything you want and to change the destination directory. This is the filename and location ON YOUR COMPUTER -- so pick a spot where you can find it. On the far-left of this box under windows 10 is an area called "Quick Access" and "Desktop" as the first item under "Quick Access". I would recommend clicking on "Desktop" to tell your browser to save the file on your desktop so you can easily find it. Then name the file any name you want - although there is no need for this one because it defaults to "Mastering MONTAGE_ An FM-X Exploration Part 1.pdf" for me, which is reasonable enough.
7) Press the "Save" Button

You should now have "Mastering MONTAGE_ An FM-X Exploration Part 1.pdf" on your desktop for future reference without having to navigate to the web.

NOTE: steps 1-3 can be replaced with "Press Control-P" for most websites. Even the tutorial website this works. It does not work in some instances - like when I'm typing a message because the message editor assigns "Control-P" to a different function thereby disabling it for printing. However, try pressing "Control-P" first instead of steps 1-3. This should also work in browsers other than Chrome.

Your steps may vary if you do not have a Windows PC or not using Chrome - but the general idea is the same. Lookup for yourself how to print to a PDF from your browser.

Hello Jason - and Wow! The extent of your expertise stretches far and wide! I've just learned things about Windows 10 I knew nothing about (I do use Chrome,as well). 'Ctrl - p' together works fine too. So anything published on the web can be downloaded - that's pretty handy to know. Thank you! It also solves my need for easy access at any time to BM's Tutorials - he untangles the tangled!
