I think Yamaha will release it along with the VST.

This is basic functionality needed by montage.
And It is an important part.

We should not have to pay extra for it.

Montage isn't a sampler (nor is it marketed at such) so why should Yamaha release a free waveform editor?

It reminds me the fs01 and how yamaha throw it without developing any editors. Of course montage is another matter, and it is not a sampler, 😉 if they wish.

@Phil

Because it is not a sampler, thats why. 😉
We do need to get our samples to the Montage somehow.

The wave loadsampels works for the drum part, but not for normal part
not for me anyway, maybe I missed something?

I can fix my samples in other programs np,
but not key map multisampels and set range etc.

Maby it will come in a update.
Or as I Sayed, maby I missed something?

Wav files can be loaded to both a drum part and a awm2 part.

This shows you the basics of loading a wav file into an awm2 part. It will be stretched across the full range of the instrument as shown with its root being middle c. To limit the file to a certain key but still have it play at the original pitch/speed, limit the note range of that element to the desired key and then use the coarse tuning of the element in the Osc/Tune page to move the pitch by the required semitones to bring it back to middle c.

@Phil

Thx but I do not asking for the basics of loading a wave file...
Of course I know how to load a WAV fil.

I'm talking about multi-samples (many wave files for one sound), multi maped,
not one Donald Duck sample ower the hole Keyboard.

And yes, I think it should be possible to do in a smooth manner.
Maby it is, maybe I missed something?

Have you done it or tried to load and map multisampels on montage AWM2?

I wouldn't hold my breath for Yamaha to release a Montage Waveform Editor, be it Free, or at a price.

I think we will just have to wait for the John Melas Waveform Editor to be released. He is working on it, and will be releasing it when it is completed.

Yamaha has not even bothered supporting the Motif Line with a Waveform Editor, so I wouldn't expect them to make one for the Montage.

I think we understand very well Yamaha policy. And it is not a surprise. And another brand have almost the same one, it is a standard. But still there will be a way out for the montage (hope so ), it is not the case for many products where you are stuck because of the shooting his own foot policy.

Of course Yamaha will adress this with an firmware update, or a standalone application or VSTi.

We do need to get our multi samples to the Montage somehow.

And it works great for the drumpart, so it will probably be good for ordinary AWM2 part to.

You guys need more faith in Yamaha IMO.
