So I just went down and setup the PA for the gig tonight. It is about 70 degrees out in direct sunlight. While soundchecking the sound from my Montage 8 would not be present after after a few minutes idle. Reselecting a performance from the Live Set list would restore output, then a few minutes later it would be without sound again. Is there something with the direct sun on the touchscreen causing the problem? The only other thing I could think of is that each time I would be out front and ask the singer to reach over and hit some keys. Is there something he could have been touching teaching over from the front of the bass end of the keyboard that would cause total sound mute? I have a few hours before performance. Sun will be down by the time first set starts but is there something else it could be? I took it down and took it with me when I left the venue so it isn’t just sitting in the sun all afternoon.

Montage's ribbon sometimes is set to control volume. That's on the bass end.

If you press one of the arpeggio buttons that might do it.

A.SWITCH (1,2) buttons may do it.

Sometimes the mod wheel can do this.

Normal players on the bass end. Maybe an assignable knob.

I mean - almost everything can be set to offset volume one way or the other.

Direct sunlight with the touchscreen was never an issue for me. If you're worried about the touchscreen - there's a way to lock the screen altogether. [SHIFT] and [COMMON] (element).

I've had the Montage shutdown on me after being idle for a while. That's a power savings setting that can be turned off. What you're describing doesn't seem to be this.
