HS5 Speakers Mail-in-rebate

Has anyone received the HS5 speakers for Montage purchase? It has been 6 weeks and WorkStride still keep saying 6-8 weeks for delivery. How long does it really take?

I'd wait for another 2 weeks (full 8 weeks) then perhaps follow up with customer service.

I registered my Montage 7 on March 23, 2018, and the site confirmed my serial number and sent a confirmation e-mail, so I'm only 3 1/2 weeks in. Nothing yet. Eight weeks will be around May 18, 2018.

Happy to report I received mine today in less than 5 weeks from the day I submitted. Just so you guys know, it is shipped out by CSE-Bulkship.

Confusing time line (April 17th was 6 weeks, April 24th was 5 weeks). Glad you received your promotional speakers and hope they serve you well.

Hmmm . . . it's now 13 weeks and counting since I registered online and got the confirmation. Still no HS5s have shown up! Who do I call?

Hi studio,

You should call Yamaha. You don’t mention where you are or which Yamaha distributor (country) was offering the promotion. But don’t hestitate call today! Phone numbers are found in the back of your Owner’s Manual.

If you need more help, let us know.

Thanks for your reply, BM! I found the e-mail from Yamaha USA Music Rewards (WorkStride Customer Service) dated 4/26/18 and there's a phone number on the bottom—I'ill give them a call tomorrow. I purchased my Montage 7 from an authorized Yamaha US dealer and live in Los Angeles County just a few miles from the Torrance, California Yamaha warehouse where my HS5s are probably hiding.

I registered my Montage 1/7/19 and applied for the rebate. Here is their response to my inquiry.

Hello David,

Apologies, but due to a lack of availability, we will be issuing white HS5 monitors instead of black HS5 monitors. The reason for doing this is to fulfill the promotion in as short a time as possible. If we wait for the black HS5 monitors, it will take another 4-6 weeks, not including shipping time. Rest assured, the white HS5s sound every bit the same as the black HS5s (and honestly speaking, they are quite stylish!)

Again, our apologies for the change.

I registered my Montage 8 on 12/29/2018. Today is March 18th, 2019.

I emailed them on 02/08/2019 and received the following response:

I received an e-mail on March 7th, 2019 that said the following:

I responded to the e-mail and said that white speakers were great. I waited another week and still received no response.

I waited until today, March 18th and then called customer service at 877-922-4483, which was Workstride customer service in New York. I spoke with someone named Jean (or Gene) who said that he did not have any information, but that he would reach out to the Yamaha specialist and give me a call back later today.

I will post an update here once I receive it. I am also going to call the customer service of the place that I purchased my Montage 8 from, because this has been a pretty negative experience. I was told when I purchased the Yamaha Montage 8 that it would take 6-8 weeks after I submitted the rebate to receive my speakers, and it has been over 13 weeks with little to no communication on why I have not yet received them.

I've attached a copy of the promotional flyer that was provided to me at Guitar Center on 12/29/2018. The small print at the bottom says that the rebate should have been fulfilled within 6-8 weeks.

I received my HS5 monitors today, exactly 13 weeks after I submitted the rebate request. When I still hadn't received them after 9 weeks, I emailed Yamaha and they provided the same response that Cameron posted. Although I would have been fine with the white monitors, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I received the black monitors, even though my email from four weeks ago said I would be receiving the white monitors.

FYI, I did not receive any notice from Yamaha that my rebate had been processed or that the monitors had shipped. My only notice came yesterday from the shipper (UPS) saying that I had a package scheduled for delivery. As Suresh reported, it is shipped from CSE-Bulkship.
