I've searched the WEB, Yamaha support, and this forum and couldn't locate an instrument definition for the Montage. Does anyone know of a source?

Thanks,

Walt

You can find it on this webpage of my site with some informations, the site is in French, cause i'm French, but you can use the google translator tools on top banner to translate online, not perfect but enought good to understand :

Instrument definition file :

http://www.moessieurs.com/ins-montage.html

Cubase script for cubase users with informations how to 'install' and use it ::

You have to select the Montage ... your screenshot shows "MIDI Device" where it should say "Montage" - try following the exact steps in the instructions. Install Device, select the Montage .XML, Set MIDI device Output = Montage-1

I did exactly as the PDF described. I Imported the file Montage.XML within the MIDI Device Manager when it imported it read MIDI Device where it states Installed Devices, this is why you see within patch Banks Montage Performances prior to all this nothing was there (Installed Devices). Trying to figure where the problems or errors lays.

Here are the steps screen shots. I'm on an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) I will try it on my Mc book pro mid 2012.

I thinking maybe it has something to do with Cubase version 9 that maybe Tones compiled it on an earlier version of Cubase.

I just performed the same steps on My Mac book pro Mid 2012 but I am using Cubase 9 and got the same results.

I think you maybe correct, something is definitely amiss with the Import Device function. I've previously installed it (this very XML) and it was found by Cubase 9, and it is working fine.

I've then tried to install a different xml and get the same dead-end results you are getting.... that "MIDI Device" item instead of the "Yamaha Montage" listing as one would expect. It looks like it is reading it by then doesn't. I'll check into it.

Worst case you can manually place it in the proper folder... (it's a "hidden" folder, I don't remember the navigation to it off the top of my head) but I'll check into it.

Ok thanks that would be Great. I just imported within Cubase Artist 8.5 and it does work fine. I prefer to use it in Cubase 9 so I will check in later.

Since you imported it in 8.5, try to see if it appears now when you launch Cubase 9... let us know.
