Is there a Yamaha Genos forum/thread somewhere...?

I know this is the Montage thread - but I am hoping someone can help me find a Yamaha Genos forum/thread...?

I tired finding one - and there really doesn't appear to be a good one.

Doesn't Yamaha have a dedicated thread/forum for it's most expensive keyboard...?

And other arrangers (SX900, SX700, SX600, etc...)

The thread might get moved by the Admins to a more proper category, but I'm answering anyway to help.

Check this one, my understanding it is the most proper forum for Yamaha Arrangers.
There is a whole section for the Genos.
And make sure you check the home page for more resources.

Cheers.

Yes, I saw that one...

Just find it very odd that Yamaha doesn't have one for their arrangers - including its most expensive keyboard.

And the lower-tier SX900 ($2300) and SX700 ($1600)... not exactly inexpensive...

Thanks!

The good thing is that the forum seems well supported by Musicians, Programmers, and Users, with thousands of threads and resources for every single arranger (PSR S/SX, Tyros, Genos), so maybe Yamaha Corp did not see the need to make their own. I am not sure to what extent Yamaha Corp supports that forum, but I personally feel comfortable with such a forum that is active daily and I won't fear that it might go down anytime soon.

It is the active users who make the forum a good reference, not the Manufacturer.

Also for any question that does not get answered on the forum, you can "Ask An Expert" from the product web page.

Good Luck!

One thing to add, just imagine Yamaha today launches a dedicated forum for their arrangers, do you think thousands of users will leave a 3rd party well active forum and refer to the new one? I personally won't 🙂

1. Please, can we have a Genos forum?
2. Can we get integration for the Genos like the Montage series has, with Cubase / Cubasis?

Not a forum, but I have a fair bit of Genos-, Tyros- and PSR-related content on my site: http://sandsoftwaresound.net/

Search for "Genos" or click the "Genos" category link on the site's main page.

As to questions, I browse the PSR Tutorial Forum every few days and answer questions if I see 'em. 🙂

All the best -- pj

@Tom - I can't speak for the future of the forum, but I can say the past Yamaha has highlighted that this forum is run, operated, and observed by members of the Synthesizer group within Yamaha. And that Genos is a different group altogether. This is why you do not see Genos topics here - because the support is not a part Genos at all and would not have sufficient training to facilitate.

That said - there are "off topic" areas that - if you really wanted to - you could start putting Genos discussion there and try to get others to join in. I think better would be for the Genos group to come to the table with a digital presence. And that group, if there's a way to get to them, is better to have the question posed of when they're going to follow the synthesizer group's lead. That said - being outnumbered - I think this would be an uphill experience.

OTOH, the motifator site is a bit of a counter-example to that. Though in part that is probably due to their not really supporting Montage/MODX when they became the effective next generation to the Motif series.

Anyway, another arranger site that might be of interest is http://www.synthzone.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/category/5/The_Arranger_Keyboard_Forums
