How do i set the start up (boot) memory , so the last performance or live set (before shut down) shows up , now i see that the start up screen defaults only to the live set or performance and not to the last patch played
That is correct. The current option is to select between viewing the PERFORMANCE (Home) screen, or the USER LIVE SET screen. There is no option to have it recall the "last" selected. We'll add your comment to the list of requests.
Just so I have some idea of your use concerning this request: Is this request for use in a live performing situation or more for the home studio application?
Glass is half full view: It does boot up in speedy fashion (by today's technology standards) so in the time saved you can navigate to your favorite selection. 🙂

For me that would be a good option during studio work. I'm working on a particular performance or live set construction and I have to go to bed. The next day it would boot to where I left off.
I've also noticed that if I'm playing a loaded library performance (like EasySounds Phat Analog) and I've gone into the performance itself but then I want to go back to where I was in that library originally, it takes me back to all performances and I have to get back into the library all over again. Either I'm going it wrong or that's just how it works. How do I get back to my original library location without having to use the search/select and reload function.
Is this a correct summary of your issue?
I press [CATEGORY SEARCH] and select the BANK as the Library for EasySounds Phat Analog then select a performance within the Phat Analog library (aka "PA-Lib" for brevity). After doing this and having fun playing the performance I selected from PA-Lib, I want to select another performance from PA-Lib. However, when I press [CATEGORY SEARCH], the default behavior is to show the "All" bank instead of my last bank selected which was "PA-Lib". Is there anything I can do to make Montage default to my last bank selection "PA-Lib" instead of "All"?
Keep in mind there are lots of assumptions in the above - so I may have missed the mark. That's why I'm asking for clarification.
I've pointed out that how [CATEGORY SEARCH] decides to work its magic may not fit what all users want. I eventually conceded that the way it works isn't half bad once I realized I can press the [CATEGORY SEARCH] several times until "All" changes to "Presets" followed by "User" - and I imagine followed by the first installed library and so on until ending with the last installed library (or back to "All" if no libraries are installed).
If you pressed [CATEGORY SEARCH] a few times and forgot how many times you pressed the button - then a long hold will reset the bank back to "All" no matter what the setting was before the long hold.

Hi BM, thanks. Both actually, even during practice /studio sessions and Live. Oh yes the boot up time is fast, but especially since we cannot delete the factory performances, we need to scroll a few pages to get the last edited/played performance set. Agree not the biggest ticket item.
Before going to bed, swap whatever performance you're editing into slot #1. Then Montage will boot to your last edited performance.
Or, before going to bed - first press [STORE] to save what you are working on then, when you wake up - turn on Montage and press [CATEGORY SEARCH] 2 times to get to the user bank then sort by date.
I'm not sure what (the lack of ability to enable ...) deleting factory performances has to do with anything considering it takes a single button press to filter out ("virtually delete") all factory performances as a function of [CATEGORY SEARCH]'s bank selection. Much less work than going and deleting a lot of factory presets every time you do a firmware upgrade - then eventually changing musical needs and wanting to restore a lot of those presets down the line.
I guess Live Setlist is missing a feature to sort by date - which I would want to use the date of the performance in the slot (not the date the setlist record was added) so you could also more easily utilize the setlist as a tool to both filter the presets (since it does this with zero button presses already) and also quickly get back to your last edit. At the cost of two button presses - [CATEGORY SEARCH] is a fairly effective tool already.
