The "inspiration in a flash" (IIAF) download for Motif XF does not translate well to the Montage. There are some - lets call them "sounds" - that will translate - and some that do not. I do know, from the post referenced below, that IIAF includes a mandolin - something missing from most Yamaha pro synth/workstation presets.

As far as strumming - ARPs are going to be less convincing than recorded strumming as demonstrated by a guitar strumming (commercial) set which has recorded chord strumming.

If all else fails, maybe an existing guitar will work with any of the "Guitar" category ARPs. There are lots of them.

... you asked for tremolo - there is a "Tremolo" ARP as well - not sure how that fits into what you need.

I used "Fiesta Guitar" as my mandolin sound. You can go through the preset performances and find something that works better for you if that doesn't cut it.

Jason, thanks for the suggestion but Peter's mandolins really do translate just great on the Montage, with a little tweaking. See other thread mentioned by BM above.

No problem. My first suggestion was to use inspiration in a flash (IIAF) and noted that it may not load properly. This is where Peter entered in and customized a Montage version of only the Mandolin "sounds" from IIAF. The other suggestions were backups in case IIAF didn't work or was not provided in time for your gig - which thankfully Peter has provided nicely translated versions.

Yamaha has previously mentioned there may be a revamp of IIAF for Montage - but we may need to do this piecemeal as requests trickle in that IIAF can cover.
