Hi, I need a little help with setting up the midi connection. This is what I want to do:

Use montage in Live Set mode and have it set the correct presets through program changes on the Virus TI2. Nothing else. The Virus has it's own keyboard so there is no need to send midi notes.

This is what I got so far:
On every performance I activate the zone switch of the first part and enter the corresponding PC. I have it transmitting on CH16. The Virus's global channel is also set to CH16. The midi send button in the "zone settings" screen in the lower right corner is set to off. In Utility/Settings/Advanced the Zone Master switch is set to on. At this point the correct preset will be selected on the Virus when I select a performance in the Live Set mode. So far, so good.

But now when I play the Montage, I hear multiple sounds being played on the Virus. It seems that on all the parts a performance contains, it will send midi notes to the part's corresponding midi channel (which is fixed I read earlier?). The Virus is in multi mode, which means a multi has 16 parts and by default every part has it's corresponding midi channel (but is switchable).
I found the option in Utility/Settings/Advanced to set the Midi I/O mode to single and then select CH16. Now I will only hear one sound being played from the virus when i play the Montage, which is part 16. And to eliminate that I have to change the midi channel of part 16 on the Virus to something other than 16. So this means on the Virus I have to change every multi's part 16's midi channel and store it in order to not have it play any sound when playing the Montage?

Seems a lot of work when all I want is to NOT send midi notes. So I believe i'm doing something wrong here? Can someone help me with that?
