What is the setup within Montage for this template ?

Quick setup Audio record on daw seems to work but MIDI Rec on DAW doesn't

Is the template geared towards Track by track method for Single Parts in each of the 16 MIDI slots

Hi, it work fine for me see my video (sorry i did not comment on video not enough time).

Performance Funk Motion pad.

I did not use the quick setup, i set myself I/O midi and audio

audio settings

First i record Main audio L/R + one midi track

Mute audio L/R
Disolve midi track cause cubase record all midi chanel in the same time one one track.

Delete the original midi track and replace the midi tracks 1 to 5 on they dedicated midi tracks

Set each part of the performance to a dedicated usb audio channel 1/2, 3/4 .... (you cannot see it on the video)

Record all audio on separate tracks from midi file.

Mute midi tracks, let play the 5 audio tracks.

It's a template, you record like you want, one track by track, all tracks togethers.

Appreciate your time and effort. I watch the video that was in non english put pretty much figured it out, a bit tasking considering I have Cubase essential 8 plus language barrier but informative once figured out.

I tried to load it into Cubase AI4 and LE5 - would not accept it in either as it was made with Cubase 8 (so it said)

Have you try or does someone else tried with the Cubase AI8 version given with the Montage as a download version ?

I'll download AI8 if that's the one which comes with the Montage tomorrow and check Joel

AI8 downloaded and your template loads ok. I recorded some midi and it was fine but when I recorded in audio, it recorded ok but nothing played back - open to suggestions Joel
Edit - ok Joel - found the problem....senior moment!
