I still wish Yamaha would add a selector to either remote screen, internal screen or both.
I actually had this happen. I turned on the Montage but forgot to power up my USB hub.
Apparently when I did power up the hub my timing was so perfect that my remoted screen and the onboard screen both were activated.
This was super convenient but I've never been able to replicate it.Typically when it detects the remote screen the Montage screen turns off automatically.
Anyone know how to control this behavior?
On a related note I realize that the screen calibration defaults to the remote screen so the touch function of the onboard screen is inoperable.
That's still okay as long as I can read both depending on what I'm doing and where I'm looking. I'd prefer to have both on at once.
An external non-touch screen will not blank the internal touchscreen. If Montage/MODX detects a compatible touch interface through USB - then the internal screen will blank. So your timing or sequence must have something to do with making a USB touch interface unavailable when Montage/MODX looks for it.
If you are using touch - and the touch works - then the internal screen will blank because the architecture only allows for a single touch interface at once. While having multiple displays (external without touch) is fine.
None of this behavior is supported so asking for modifications to an unofficial feature are unlikely to get anywhere. That said, an Ideascale touting the benefits of external screens and exactly how that screen should work in conjunction with an internal screen may be informative for future development.
