One Pedal, Many Synths.. or just 2!

Don't know about you other gigging keyboardists, but I hate having to deal with redundant gear. Specifically pedals. My previous setup was a Nord Stage 3 and Montage 7. With this setup I've been able to use sustain, and a FC7 style boss pedal, then control functions (sustain, super knob, Nord Wheel) of both synths. I finally discovered how to get the keybeds independent of one another by using the Nord as a controller (through bandhelper), and muting the first part on a given montage performance. This way the global channel sent pedal info, but Montage would ignore global ch 1 for keybed. Presto! One pedal, two independent boards.

That was then. This is now = Nord Stage 4 and Montage M 7. I can't for the life of me figure out how to repeat that same process. It seems like every part of the new Montage M's performance listen to global ch 1, even when I change the midi settings for each part to other channels. Thus, there is no keybed independence between the two boards. What plays on the nord, plays on the m7.

Does anybody have insight here? If it isn't possible with the new M7, do you think a TRS cable splitter might work... at least for sustain?
Thanks!

The default MIDI settings on the Montage M are different to those in the original Montage.
By default, now it listens to Ch.1

You need to turn keyboard control OFF for those Parts you want to set to the Rx/Tx Channel that can be different for each Part. I would probably just Part 1 to transmit to CH2, turn off keyboard control and set the Rx/Tx channel to CH2 for Parts 2-8 and loop back around a MIDI cable (out to in) so that Part 1 is sending the keyboard events to MIDI CH2 (Parts 2-8). Be sure zone control turns off sending LSB/MSB/PC not to interfere with the Parts 2-8.

This means you can't use keyboard select for choosing Parts (like scenes) anymore because now keyboard control is used in a different way. And generally this is a kludge of a solution. You'll have to select which Parts sound by using Mute instead since keyboard control is holding down the MIDI fort.
