Every time I attempt to pick a song from the play & perform section the Montage freezes. Why would this be happening? Do I need to contact the dealer? I havent really used it a bunch so this is a little disturbing. It also lags big time when I am trying to navigate to various sections of the song. This is concerning as well.
Thank you for your time.
Hi Ryan,
First thing I would do, is go to the Yamaha download site grab and load the latest firmware for the Montage.
Hope this helps.
Rob

Sorry, it is not at all clear to us what exactly you are doing. We know of no "play & perform" section.
Perhaps you are attempting to use the SONG&PERF feature.
Which can link a Song (.mid) file with an internal Performance.
If your instrument freezes perhaps it cannot read the .mid file, we don't have enough information to give you a definitive reason, but I would start there.
If you can describe what exactly you are doing or if it's easier, call and talk with an Application Specialist at Yamaha Customer Support.
Sorry. When I press the record button. it takes me to performance. Then I press on song name. Then I press load. Then it takes me to Song&Perform. I press on any of the songs to load and it freezes every time. I have loaded the newest firmware and am up to date. I have taken the usb stick out and tried but it still freezes. I have left the usb stick in it still freezes. I dont know if taking the USB stick in or out really matters but I thought I would try. I dont really know of anything else to try. I hope this is clearer. Thank you again.
Again, the instrument may not be able to read your MIDI file.
Where was the file created?
What is the exact extension of the file? .midi? .mid?
Can you store and/or load data to that USB stick? In other words, is it compatible for storing and loading other types of files?
Try creating a .mid file using the Montage itself...
Let us know.
