Is it possible to play the Montage sounds from a Casio CDP 130 piano using USB. Can you use the USB to device port to connect the Montage to the Casio? I like the Montage 88 but it's too heavy. Thanks!
According to the Owner's Manual for the Casio CDP130 (page 13) it only connects to a computer via USB.
I can connect the Casio to a Muse Receptor using a USB cable and I am able to play the sounds from my Receptor on my Casio which is why I was hoping that I could use the USB port on the Montage that is for the thumb drive to connect the Casio and Montage together and be able to play the Montage sounds from the Casio.
Hello, a Muse Receptor is a computer in a rack format, it can use the casio "driver", the Montage cannot use casio drivers from usb or others trademark, Montage is not a computer.
Yes the Montage Keyboard is heavy, i have also a Motif XF8 combined to my Montage 7 and before i have a Motif XS8.
It take me some time to be confortable with the XS8 keyboard (before i have a CME UF8) but when it's done, i will never want to return on another 88 note keyboard.
Take time an play, you will enjoy your Montage 8 Keyboard.
Yes I do know that the Receptor is a computer in a rack format. FWIW you can hook up USB keyboard controller keyboards to a Korg Kronos and play the Kronos sounds from the controller so I was hoping the Montage had that ability.
Yes i know, i will have a kronos, the kronos have a computer motherboard.
Yeah I will have to get another 88 keyboard with MIDI if I want to get the Montage 61. The Kronos may work but I will have to try to see if it does for sure. IMHO both the Kronos and Montage are both excellent units and are similarly priced. The Montage though to my ears has much better sounding onboard pianos than the Kronos so one would have to shell out some extra money to get a better piano sound.
