I have seen enough for to reply my own questions

¿Are there any news about assignable MIDI input channels or another thing about MIDI implementation?

RE: NO, NOTHING relevant has been added to the MIDI implementation of the Montage. Instead of this a complex and arbitrary mode called "hybrid" is enabled for unknown purposes, due everything that could be done with this mode can be done with the standard Omni Off mode if having assignable input channels.

¿Will be possible to route the digital output of the driver output ( digital out 2) of the DAW to any other external destination than Montage?

RE: NO, the digital out 2 can´t be routed to any other place than to Montage output

¿Will be possible to edit or reassign the MIDI Bank Select/Propgram Change information of the Performances?

RE: NO, The MIDI Bank Select & Program Change information of the Performances remain uneditable.

¿Will be possible to use simoultaneosly the MIDI Dyn and the MIDI USB connectors?

RE: NO, but a remarkable point is that the USB input of the Montage can act as Host for external controllers.

¿Will be possible, with a simple one step procedure, to send via Sys Ex all the data of a Performance to the DAW for to store it in realtime in a track without any auxiliary software?

NO, you cant do what in very old synthesizers was the warranty of never lose the performance information: The ability of to store the information at the begining of a MIDI track for reprogram the sound generator each time you start the sequence, freeing you from a computer or specific hardware sequencer.

¿Does Yamaha provide a librarian that allow editing and storing the Performances in the Montage in a permanent form?

NO

¿Are there new functions that allow to edit deeply the waveforms of the Montage (like loop points or add or remove portions of the waveforms)?

NO, no waveform editor has been includded in the update 3.0

¿What practical and speedy method is planned for to get a Total Recall of the performance parameter when starting a (portable) MIDI sequence in any other sequencer than Cubase?

NO, By itself the Montage has not a Total Recall function that would work without the need of an external program.

One more question

Is there any possibility to edit a single event in the pattern?

Note, gate, velocity?

Thx

QUESTION

I'm currently still on Montage OS 2.0. I have a bunch of user Performances (some with songs) and user Libraries (DX7 conversions, Chick Corea Mark V etc.), some also include user samples. What backup procedure do I need to do to make sure I backup everything so that it is intact on OS 3.0 - but I also get the new 3.0 content (Performances e.g.) along with it?

You need a USB stick. Then go to Utility -> Store/Save. Under "Content Type" select "Backup File" and follow the instructions. That will save everything. When you restored i on the new OS all new content will be there.

Note that I am not 100% sure that Content Type "Backup File" was already there in 2.0. If not you will have to save the libraries one by one (or you have them still on your PC) and note the order in which they were. Tthen save a "User File". Then you would have to load first the libraries in the original order (!) and then the saved user file.

Backup File (.X7A) was introduced at firmware (OS) 1.50 (just FYI) the Backup File clones your MONTAGE custom data (including all the DATA UTILITY content and installed Libraries)

Does anyone know if they fixed Pitch Bend from stepping and not being smooth?

At least neither the release notes not the manual mention anything there.

No problem, if it's not fixed, I'll just hide the stepping-like sound with the new Enhanced LFO or VCM effects! :p

Until the documentation is updated, your best resource is the "new features" document bundled with the firmware ZIP.

Are there any news about assignable MIDI input channels or another thing about MIDI implementation?

You cannot arbitrarily assign each PART's MIDi input channel. Firmware v3.0 does offer a new MIDI mode "hybrid" which adds to the the former single or multi channel modes. "Hybrid" is basically a mode where all PARTs with keyboard control ON will be in single-channel mode (receiving and sending on a selected/configurable MIDI channel) while also simultaneously PARTs with keyboard control OFF will transmit/receive on their corresponding PART number MIDI channel.

One example:
MIDI channel mode = Hybrid
Transmit/Receive I/O Channel = Channel 9, PART 1-8 = Keyboard Control ON, PART 9-16 Keyboard Control OFF
PARTs 1-8 transmit/receive on MIDI channel 9 (MIDI I/O Channel configured)
PART 9 also transmit/receive on MIDI channel 9 (kb ctrl = off, so same as its channel #)
PART 10 transmit/receive on MIDI channel 10 (ditto)
PART 11 transmit/receive on MIDI channel 11 (" )
...
PART 16 transmit/receive on MIDI channel 16 (" )

So this is not fully configurable. It is incrementally more control than we had previous.

The previous documentation (before hybrid) had more information on what was transmitted in terms of ARPs and also more information in terms of defeating the modes when PART zones were used. There is now some ambiguity regarding these two behaviors and how they relate to hybrid. One would assume ARPs act as previous single-mode documentation when engaged (not transmitted) and that hybrid mode would also be defeated (like single channel mode) if zones are used.

Will be possible, with a simple one step procedure, to send via Sys Ex all the data of a Performance to the DAW for to store it in realtime in a track without any auxiliary software?

New firmware not required. You could always send a MIDI Sysex dump request.

Does Yamaha provide a librarian that allow editing and storing the Performances in the Montage in a permanent form?

Not related to firmware - but Yamaha provides no software for editing Performances. This feature is supplied by 3rd party software, at cost.

Are there new functions that allow to edit deeply the waveforms of the Montage (like loop points or add or remove portions of the waveforms)?

Firmware v3.0 does not have any changes to the waveform editing. This still requires using external software. Sample Robot (free) or other 3rd party tools (at cost).

Is there any possibility to edit a single event in the pattern? Note, gate, velocity?

Not in a surgical manner. But you can nudge around values down to the resolution of a beat and "beat" follows the time signature configuration. If your shortest note is no smaller than a single beat - then you can get to all the notes one-by-one using the transpose (for note), gate, and velocity features. If you have shorter notes - you can't get to individual events. There's no event list as the previous sequencer had. This is more of a job-based editor - which is still incrementally better than what we had before.

And "transpose" isn't the same as setting note values - but if you know the note value you started with - you can nudge around the note (up/down) using transpose to arrive at the right destination note.

Crescendo and roll are interesting new "editing" features in their own right.

Now that we're getting a pattern sequencer, will there be a way to import patterns (and songs, mixings etc). from Motif XS/XF .X0A files?

A little off-topic, i wonder if "memorise last category search" feature is baked in the 3.0 update. Thanks.

Baked?

Not sure if this means you're not aware if the feature is in there - or if you're aware it's there and not sure if it's "fully baked" - or implemented in a way you expect/want.

This is the documentation from the new features PDF:

Memorizing the Bank and Attribute selected in the Performance Category Search
=================================================================
This instrument can now memorize the last setting of Bank and Attribute on the Performance Category Search display even after
moving to another display.
